Short Description:
According to Mike Hutjens, dairy extension specialist at the University of Illinois, there are no nutritional differences in content, quality, or wholesomeness in milk from cows treated or not treated with rbST, or organic sourced milk.
Abstract:
According to Mike Hutjens, Americans have access to the "safest and most economical" dairy products in the world, and have choices in dairy products, including fat levels, flavors, and sourcing.
Milk from cows treated with rbST do not contain more hormones than other milk, says Hutjens. However, consumers should be wary of certain labeling terms such as "antibiotic free" or "pesticide free." No milk contains antibiotics and the sale of milk with pesticides is illegal.
