More Information...

Short Description:
A recent survey by Animal Defenders International found overwhelming public sentiment against the inclusion of wild animals in circuses, based on concerns about animal welfare.

Abstract:
According to the results of this survey of 10,000 Britons, 94.5% of the British public sad a ban on the use of wild animals in circuses was the best option to increase animal welfare standards; 96% said traveling circuses should not be allowed to obtain any new wild animals. The ban would include large cats and elephants, but domestic animals like cats and dogs would still be allowed.
