Following is the (mostly volunteer) team that makes HRC happen:

Anthony Bellotti, Director/Secretary
Anthony was a key voice in developing the HRC's strategy during our initial years and he led our fur research in 2003-2004 on behalf of the Fund for Animals. In 2006 he served as Senior Research Analyst for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's successful reelection campaign. Anthony was recently named Executive Director of the American Association of Political Consultants. Anthony holds an MA in political management from George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management and a BA in philosophy and political science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Courtney Dillard, PhD, Advisor
Courtney Dillard teaches in the Rhetoric and Media Studies Department at Willamette University in Oregon. She has spent the last 10 years working with and studying the animal advocacy movement, particularly its discourse, and wrote her doctoral dissertation on the rhetorical relationship between moderates and radicals in the animal movement. In addition to advising HRC, Courtney is also the co-founder and volunteer president of the nonprofit group Four Feet Forward.

Jennifer Fearing, Advisor
Jennifer Fearing is the Director of Economic Research for The Humane Society of the United States, where she provides economic arguments, strategy, research, data collection, analysis, and internal consultation. Prior to joining The HSUS, Jennifer worked for eight years as a Senior Consultant with Econ One Research, then served as President and CEO of United Animal Nations. Jennifer holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Davis, and a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard University.

Caryn Ginsberg, Advisor
Caryn Ginsberg has nearly two decades of experience helping organizations identify and achieve strategic priorities. The consulting firm she co-founded, Priority Ventures Group, is in its tenth year helping nonprofit and for-profit organizations get better results. Caryn teaches marketing in the MBA program at Johns Hopkins University and for Humane Society University. She also serves on the board of directors of the Institute for Humane Education.

Carol Glasser, Research Director
Carol Glasser received her M.A., and is currently a doctoral candidate, in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Irvine. Her current research focuses on the animal rights movement, examining how social movement organizations and the state interact and the role of illegal direct action in the movement. Carol honed her research skills working on a variety of research projects and teams, examining everything from interventions to slow cognitive decay in geriatric populations to the role gender and ethnicity play in the body type preferences of heterosexual daters. Outside of academia, Carol works at the grassroots level to stop animal exploitation and advance animals’ social position.

Che Green, Director/President, Executive Director
Che Green is a former analyst, investment banker, and research manager with significant experience developing and implementing research projects of all kinds. In addition to his for-profit experience, Che has worked and volunteered for animal advocacy groups at both the local grassroots and national levels. As HRC's executive director and lead researcher, he brings a unique and informed perspective to the problems facing animal advocates. Che has a BA in business administration, with a concentration in finance; he founded HRC in 2001 to empower animal advocates through research.

Sharie Lesniak, Director
Sharie Lesniak is a recent defector from corporate advertising, having enticed consumers to buy everything from Gap clothes to Nissan cars to Absolut Vodka. But she eventually came to realize that her skills could also help animal advocates more effectively sell their message. Sharie is now the Creative Director at the Animal Protection Institute, where she focuses on creating materials that will convince consumers to think more humanely and engage in more animal-friendly behaviors. Sharie has a BBA from Western Michigan University.

Katrina Munsell, Research Project Manager
Katrina was formerly Manager of Strategic Planning and Analysis for Kelco, where she conducted the division's business planning and market research studies. She has served as an independent research consultant and has spent some time teaching media law classes at a college level, thus bring a wide range of skills to HRC. Katrina holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego in Quantitative Economics and Decision Science and a law degree from the University of San Diego.

Jack Norris, RD, Advisor
Jack Norris co-founded Vegan Outreach in 1993 and is currently its President. Vegan Outreach produces the booklets Why Vegan, Try Vegetarian, and Even If You Like Meat. In 2005, Jack was elected to the Animal Rights Hall of Fame. Jack runs Vegan Outreach's Adopt A College program, which focuses on delivering the group's brochures to college students. Jack is also a Registered Dietitian and author of Vitamin B12: Are You Getting It? and Staying Healthy On Plant-Based Diets. Jack's articles can be found on VeganOutreach.org and VeganHealth.org.

Ian Ross, PhD, Advisor
Ian Ross has a doctorate in linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania, and previously he studied mathematics and computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has served as an advisor to HRC in the areas of strategic and organizational development, as well as linguistics associated with survey and question design. Ian currently works in San Francisco as a strategy consultant focusing on private equity, high tech, and customer relationship management, after having worked for an enterprise web search firm in Silicon Valley.

Andrew Rowan, Advisor
Andrew Rowan is the former director of the Tufts University Center for Animals and Public Policy. He also chaired the Department of Environmental Studies at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Andrew was the founding editor of the International Journal for the Study of Animal Problems, founding editor of Anthrozoos, and scientific administrator for the Fund for the Replacement for Animals in Medical Experiments. Andrew currently serves as president and CEO of Humane Society International, and serves as Chief International Officer and Chief Scientific Officer for The Humane Society of the United States.

Kathleen Savesky, Advisor
Kathleen Savesky is Executive Director of the Leonard X. Bosack & Bette M. Kruger Charitable Foundation and a veteran of more than 30 years in non-profit management, animal protection, and higher education fields. Kathleen is an Associate of the Center for Animals and Public Policy at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, and she currently holds volunteer positions with Animal Grantmakers, the International Fund for Animals, and the UC Davis Shelter Medicine Program. Kathleen has a BS from the University of Missouri and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Connecticut College.

Kenneth Shapiro, PhD, ABPP, Advisor
Kenneth Shapiro is executive director of Animals and Society Institute; founder and editor of Society and Animals: Journal of Human-Animal Studies; cofounder and coeditor of Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science; and editor of Human-Animal Studies Book Series. Shapiro earned his BA from Harvard University and his PhD in clinical psychology from Duke University. He is the author of 3 books, most recently -- Animal Models of Human Psychology: Critique of Science, Ethics and Policy.
