Taken at the beginning of bear hunting season in 2007, this survey found that the majority of Maryland voters (61%) are opposed to the hunting of bears and that nearly three times as many voters would prefer state officials to handle bear issues with non-lethal methods. Nearly two-thirds (64%) would like the Governor to cancel the bear hunt.
