This article examines how U.S. based social movement organizations use the internet to communicate and generate visibility for their causes and organizations.
Abstract:
According to survey results, the majority of social movement organizations (SMOs) in the U.S. are not using the internet to its full potential. This analysis offers reasons for this perceived deficiency, including a lack of organizational objectives, specific resources, and resource sharing.
