Help Equip HRC to Better Serve Animals and the Movement!

If you are currently receiving the HumaneSpot.org email alerts or using the website for your research, please consider supporting HRC as we seek to upgrade our computers to better serve our clients and the animal protection movement. To learn more about our need for new equipment, please read this message that I sent to HRC's supporters last week.

HRC is a small organization with only two employees and the vast majority of our work is conducted online, including serving clients through email and Skype and managing our research website, HumaneSpot.org.

But our employees currently work with outdated equipment -- our primary laptop computer is more than 4 years old, while our desktop computer is even older. 2009 has been a wonderful year for HRC (we'll compile highlights next month), but we need new equipment in order to carry on our work efficiently and effectively.

Please help us upgrade our computers

Our request is simple and (we hope) modest: We are asking for enough donations by the end of the year to cover the purchase of two new computers and HRC’s office internet access in 2010. In total, this amounts to about $1,940, as detailed below (model choices are tentative):

• New Dell Optiplex desktop computer ($750)
• New Samsung R-Series laptop computer ($650)
• Office internet access for 2010 ($540)

Upgrading HRC’s computers will allow us to be more efficient and avoid the “blue screens” that have become far too common with our current equipment. To bring our operations to a new level and help ensure that we never lose any important data, please support our purchase of two new computers.
